How do you use xsplit

XSplit Broadcaster has a professional feel and is not hard to set up because it easily integrates with all the major platforms, including Twitch. Sign up for an XSplit account at www. When the software downloads it will ask if it can make changes to your computer, click Yes to continue. It will ask you this every time you open Broadcaster. To set up a new output means to connect your streaming platform like Twitch or YouTube. You can set up multiple accounts for multiple streaming platforms.

Each platform will request authorization for XSplit to use it. Click Authorize XSplit to use Twitch or whatever platform s you have. After you verify your Twitch account it will show up under Choose a Twitch Account.

Once you see the account you want to stream to click on it. You can also have multiple Twitch accounts logged in on XSplit. But you can only stream to one account at a time. This is what authorizing XSplit to use your Twitch will look like.

Click Next. XSplit will automatically determine your server and tell you what your recommended settings are for Twitch and the other platforms available. Twitch Properties are for technical stream settings like your Bitrate and Codec. The only thing I would change for a smooth stream with great graphics is the Video Encoding. Codec encodes or decodes a digital data stream or signal. I change my Codec to x because it has better quality, meaning it gives my stream a more polished look.

Bitrate: The lower the Bitrate the choppier the stream can be. I recommend for p streams. Running at a lower setting like x at 30FPS the bitrate should be raised to maximum and minimum. And the Codec can still change x Click on the resolution and framerate in the upper right corner.

Scroll down to Resolution and select the resolution works for your stream. Remember, you can move things around however you want, or you can click on the arrow buttons for simple repositioning. To change most of the application's settings, you will want to click on the Tools menu in the toolbar and select the General Settings option.

Hotkeys: Make sure to set these up before you actually start recording as clicking on the buttons manually will be awkward. Also, make sure to set up hotkeys that aren't used by other programs or the game you'll be playing. Audio: Make sure that these settings are all good. XSplit's default settings are usually fine but you may have to adjust them, depending on your system. Audio is almost as important as video in many cases so you don't want to skip over this.

Outside of this menu, in the top right corner of Xsplit, you will also be able to adjust resolution options, though these are limited in the free version to p 30FPS.

XSplit gives you the option to either save your recordings or stream live. Here's how to do both. After selecting all the sources and setting up the various scenes, you can just press the hotkey you previously set up to start recording.

If you skipped that step, you can just click on the Outputs menu and select the Local recording option. Depending on the option you choose, you will be asked to enter your credentials along with optional information like descriptions, tags, and so forth.

As mentioned before, you will be limited to p 30FPS in the free version so keep that in mind if you are planning on streaming a game. While XSplit is great, it's not the only option in the market. After it finishes installing, the plugin store will automatically close and a window asking to setup Restream will appear.

This will open a new window where you can login to your Restream account. XSplit Broadcaster is now connected to your Restream account! After the test is complete, take note of the server that tested best and select the corresponding server in the drop-down.
